Littles’ Scholarships
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist with costs associated with post-secondary undergraduate education. Applicants must be current or former participants in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This scholarship may be a one-time or multi-year award.
CRITERIA:
To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Be a current or former participant of the Big Brothers Big Sisters community based program.
- Be eligible for admission to or currently attending a post-secondary school
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applications will be accepted until March 31, 2010.
The following items must be submitted to Big Brothers Big Sister by the aforementioned deadline:
- Completed application; including 3 references
- Essay questions answered completely
- Most current transcript (either from high school or last semester in college)
SELECTION PROCESS:
A scholarship panel of Big Brothers Big Sisters board and staff members will review the applications and essay answer questions and select recipients. The application and all supplemental materials must be received by March 31, 2010 in order to receive consideration. The recipient(s) of the award will be notified by May 31, 2010.
The selection panel reserves the right to withdraw an award should a recipient’s circumstances change such as, but not limited to, failure to graduate from high school or failure to enroll to a post-secondary institution. Big Brothers Big Sisters reserves the right to withhold the award in the event no applications meet the qualifications.
PAYMENT PROCESS:
- call financial aid office of college give CC # to make payment toward tuition
- make check out to college and recipient of scholarship and mail to college’s financial aid office
- make check out to recipient
Depending on recipient’s financial need the number of scholarships that will be awarded and the amount will vary yearly.
