Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. is proud to be participating in “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” where Disney Parks is giving one Free Day pass to each volunteer who participates in a service project with participating non-profit groups.

Ways you can volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. and receive your pass are:

• Become a Big Brother or Big Sister and volunteer to spend time with a child once a week for a year. We guarantee this experience will reward you in many, many ways including a free day pass to a Disney Theme park. To find out how to volunteer, go to Volunteer and click on “Be A Big.”

• If you are currently a Big, you already qualify for the Disney pass. Follow the instructions below.

• Bowl for Kids’ Sake counts if you bowl on a team with us. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our annual FUNdraiser and we need bowling teams. See information under Events and Bowl for Kids’ Sake. You must bowl on a team to qualify for the pass.

• Throughout the year, we may have additional volunteer opportunities so check back on the Disney site.

To register, go to www.disneyparks.com and follow the instructions. Search the list for ALL opportunities in Winston-Salem to find Big Brothers Big Sisters and look for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. After you have participated in either of the events above, we will verify that you participated and your voucher will be sent to you from the Disney Parks Web site.

If you have any trouble registering please contact Judi Saint Sing in our office at jsaintsing@bbbsnc.org call her at (336) 724-7993.

You will participate with your Little through “service stations” illustrating Dr. King’s message of service and literacy. A few examples of stations include: writing letters to the troops, creating Valentine’s Day cards for the elderly, creating a banner titled, “I dream,” where they will be encouraged to visualize their own hopes and dreams, and a reading and book distribution station where the volunteers will read civil-rights themed books to the children. In this way, the students will learn more about Dr. King and what it means to provide service to others.
