  • Your financial support will help ensure that we can reach children who need the support of a positive mentor in their lives in order to reach their full potential. To build a stronger foundation for expanding our program services and to provide a stable future for our children, we are asking you to consider donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In 2005, we established the Big Magic Society to help us expand our services for the children we serve. We have more than 25 individuals who have joined our Big Magic Society and have donated at one of the levels below.

The pledge level titles are in some ways symbolic, but they also represent the real costs of conducting our programs.

     Donation Levels:

“Magic Maker” – $5,000 a year for five years
Our highest level provides a far-ranging impact on the lives of youth in our community. A gift of $5,000 a year for five years is a major contribution in helping Big Brothers Big Sisters expand our geographic and program reach—providing weekly relationship building support and training, recreational activities, academic support, and career-building activities to youth-in-need throughout our area.

“Mentor Maker” – $2,500 a year for five years
A gift of $2,500 each year for five years will allow us to match even more kids, plus support the children on our waiting list who have yet to meet that Big Brother or Big Sister, with activities and staff involvement. A donation at this level (approximately $208 per month) will help provide the food and activities for an entire six-week Summer Reading program each year.

“Match Maker” – $1,000 a year for five years
This is approximately the initial cost of finding and matching one mentor with one child and providing professional match support for one year. A gift at this level (an average of $83 per month), will provide mentoring help to one new child for each of the next five years.

We appreciate all the donors who have made that long-term commitment to our agency. Similarly, we have many other donors who find a way to make a huge impact on our children with other levels of giving. Below are some examples of how other donations make a positive impact on our agency.

$500 – Provides food and activities for 50 children at our annual summer picnic
$250 – Provides an activity for 15 children currently waiting on a Big Brother or Big Sister
$100 – covers the yearly fees for the background checks and screening needed on potential Bigs
$50 – enables one teen mom Little Sister to attend an educational enrichment session that can help connect her to community resources

We sincerely thank each and every one of you for whatever gift you choose to make on behalf of the great kids we serve. Because of your generosity and support, our kids will know there is someone who cares about them, who believes in them and will be there for them through the programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
