Ways you can volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. and receive your pass are:

    • If you are currently a Big, you already qualify for the Disney pass. Follow the instructions below.

Thousands of additional individuals help make this event successful by donating and supporting a bowler. This year our Bowl For Kid’s Sake event will take place on Saturday, February 27th and Saturday, March 6th at AMF Bowling Center on Jonestown Rd.

January is National Mentoring Month and has a special meaning for Big Brothers Big Sister. As the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the world, Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud of the relationships developed between our Bigs and Littles. These friendships have a tremendous impact on both the adult volunteer and child.

We support National Mentoring Month and would encourage everyone to become a mentor. We continually look for qualified volunteers to become a Big Brother or Big Sister for a variety of programs, so contact us if you are interested by calling 336-724-7993 or email Judi Saint Sing at jsaintsing@bbbsnc.org .

  • “Day of Service – Read-In Event” to recognize the life and service of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Posted on January 8th, 2010 regina No comments

Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. is partnering with Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University and HandsOn Northwest North Carolina for a “Read-In Event” in conjunction with one of the largest commemorative events held in Winston-Salem every year: the Noonday Celebration to remember the life and dream of Dr. King.

You will participate with your Little through “service stations” illustrating Dr. King’s message of service and literacy. A few examples of stations include: writing letters to the troops, creating Valentine’s Day cards for the elderly, creating a banner titled, “I dream,” where they will be encouraged to visualize their own hopes and dreams, and a reading and book distribution station where the volunteers will read civil-rights themed books to the children. In this way, the students will learn more about Dr. King and what it means to provide service to others.

Please click here to see the flyer for the event.

If you are interested, please contact Judi Saint Sing at 336-724-7993 or jsaintsing@bbbsnc.org
