Big Brothers Big Sisters exists to empower children to reach theirpotential by continuously recruiting, developing, and training mentors to provide professionally supported, one-to-one Big Brother and Big Sister relationships.

Our Agency officially opened in Winston-Salem 1977. We are one of almost 400 agencies that are affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a national organization that began serving children in 1904. Big Brothers Big Sisters operates in all 50 states, and in 12 countries.

Big Impact occurs daily through our Forsyth County and Davie County sites. Annually, our organization serves more than 600 children.  Through our Big Brother Big Sister matches, Littles are:

• More confident in their school performance
• Able to get along better with their families
• 46 percent are less likely to use drugs
• 52 percent less likely to skip school
• 27 percent less likely to begin using alcohol

Our professional staff ensures that the relationships are safe and rewarding for everyone involved.

Big Magic happens when we pair a Big and Little together to create a  friendship that will impact the Little’s life forever!  Spending time each week with a Little Brother or Sister is simple.  Our matches have fun playing sports, going to the park, reading books, watching movies, and participating in various other activities together. The possibilities are endless.

Thanks to the United Way, individuals, corporate partners, our annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake, and community support, Big Brothers Big Sisters will continue to grow strong and reach hundreds of children in Forsyth County each year.
